From the minute I committed to giving birth at the birth center I felt relieved and safe, like someone had taken the wheel, someone much more experienced and calm, it felt worlds different (better) from the care I was receiving at the obgyn. during labor, Emily, Elizabeth and Emma cared for me tirelessly. every time I reached for a hand they were there. They constantly brought me sustenance and were by my side the entire time- from texting them at home when my water broke in early labor through my daughters first bath. they helped my natural labor progress by moving me carefully into new positions and they guided my husband Pete in how to best support me, always making sure he was the first face I saw. by the end of my experience, I felt that the work of a midwife is a calling and these women have a gift. I cannot recommend Riverhaven enough for any woman who is wanting a natural birth or/to give birth outside of the hospital. this was my first baby and I will be back if I am pregnant again!”
